You Are the Captain

After a global catastrophe forever changed the planet's climate, you lead an expedition across a frozen world.

After a global catastrophe forever changed the planet's climate, you lead an expedition aboard a massive ship built to cross endless snowy wastelands. With a crew of 20, a handful of buildings, limited supplies, and a sliver of hope, you must find a new place to live. Journey through cold, hunger, danger, political intrigue, and clashing settlements in a world that no longer forgives mistakes.

Frozen Ship blends open-world survival with managing an entire mobile city. Explore alone, command your crew and ship, make hard calls — and try to survive where humanity has all but vanished.

Core Gameplay

Four pillars define the loop.

01

Command Your Crew

Lead a crew of 20 survivors. Assign them to the kitchen, boiler, workshop, infirmary, or send them scavenging. Watch their illness, fatigue, fear, and faith — every assignment ripples through the expedition.

02

Build a Mobile City

Your ship is more than transport — it's a rolling home. Construct and upgrade a hospital, kitchen, workshop, housing, and research lab. Enact laws and restrictions to keep the colony alive.

03

Scavenge the Frozen Wastes

Vent into a procedurally generated world of predators, hostile survivor camps, and abandoned cities. Grab cloth, scrap metal, and food — but beat the 18:00 curfew or freeze in −67°C night.

04

Trade & Survive

Resources mean life. Deal with traders, sell your loot, buy rare gear, and complete quests. One good bargain can save the expedition; one mistake can doom it.

A Living, Dangerous World

A procedurally generated open world that changes every playthrough.

Beyond the ship lies a procedurally generated open world that changes every playthrough — new routes, new dangers, new stories. You'll face predators and deadly enemies, hunt and gather resources, and survive firefights and diplomacy alike. Explore abandoned hospitals, shops, homes, railways, and entire cities.

Your actions can shift the balance of power, decide the fate of whole communities, and maybe shape the future of humanity. Side with a faction, or balance them all — the choice is yours.

About Early Access

Frozen Ship enters Steam Early Access on August 7, 2026. The developer (Nionetix) plans to stay in EA for 1–2 years, adding locations, loot, mechanics, and new game modes — including the full "New Beginning" storyline — based on community feedback. The price is reduced for the entire Early Access period. This guide covers the current build and is updated as new content lands.
